Your Assistant is a PC-based desktop application that runs on a Mitel Networks Collaboration Server over a Mitel Networks Integrated Communications Platform (ICP) network. It features a simplified interface that enables users to access and control multiple collaboration media – audio, video, data – with speed and ease. But that's not all. Your Assistant also enables users to manage contact information, determine the presence and availability of colleagues, and set their own call handling policies at the desktop. It is also a feature rich, fully functional Softphone that can provide full access to communications and collaboration from any location with a high speed Internet connection – enabling those on the road or working from home to communicate and collaborate as if at the office. Fully modular, Mitel Networks Your Assistant can support audio only, audio, video and data, and multiple media simultaneously, depending on the collaborative requirements of users and organizations.

Audio Collaboration

Mitel Networks Your Assistant supports users with feature-rich PC-based telephony, including advanced features for call handling, desktop call control and dial by address book. Initiating and controlling a voice conference is simple: just select the names of those with whom you wish to collaborate from your contacts database and drag them onto the conferencing icon. The solution does all the rest, even dialing out to your pre-defined list of participants if you choose. If you initiate the conference, you're in control, with a visual display of all those actively participating, and the ability to add and remove participants at any time with a simple click, drag and drop. The application's ‘whisper' feature enables select participants in a multi-party audio conference to communicate directly, without the rest of the group hearing.

Video Collaboration

Mitel Networks takes video conferencing to a whole new level of simplicity, reducing the user frustration common with more traditional approaches. To initiate a video conference, you simply call participants using the interface's dial by contacts function. Once they answer and agree to participate, you simply click on the video icon to bring their image up on your PC screen. If you initiate the conference, you control the session, adding and removing participants as required. The solution supports collaboration from both the desktop and the meeting room, and can address legacy video systems including ISDN and H.323.

Data Collaboration

The Your Assistant interface supports effortless and secure file sharing, knowledge management and instant messaging capabilities. On the phone with a colleague and want to look at the same file or use the same application simultaneously? Just drag it onto your colleague's name and it instantly appears on their desktop. Want to track and take notes on phone-based contacts with clients and colleagues? Use Your Assistant's knowledge management capabilities to create and store records - even program it to pop the contact's information window automatically, based on calling number ID. Need to keep in touch with someone online but off the phone? Your Assistant instant messaging is your connection.

Multimedia Collaboration

Audio, video or data on their own are often not enough to support efficient, productive collaboration. But that's not a problem with Your Assistant. While on an audio or video conference, you can share files and applications with some or all participants simply by dragging the item onto the appropriate name(s). If you need to communicate silently with one or more participants in an audio conference, you can remain in the conference but take your private communication offline with instant messaging. You can even add an audio-only participant to a video conference at any time through simple drag and drop operations.

Presence Detection, Instant Messaging and Call Forwarding Profiles

Your Assistant enables you to rapidly and easily determine the presence and availability of colleagues for participation in collaborative sessions without having to call or contact them first. In addition to its feature-rich desktop telephony capabilities, the application also enables you to manage incoming calls to an unprecedented level of personalization. Easy to use call forwarding profiles mean you can provide personal greetings to specific individuals before forwarding them to voice mail; important calls can be forwarded to your cell phone, pager or other device; and you can ensure that important individuals can always reach you, regardless of where you are or what mode of communications you have access to. Secure Enterprise Instant Messaging is supported to individuals or groups. Instant Messages can be centrally logged and Instant Messages can easily be escalated into phone calls, video conferences or audio conferences.

Mitel Networks IP Audio Conference Units for office and meeting rooms feature Mitel Networks patented beam forming array technology, which automatically isolates audio pickup from the principal participant in a conference to dramatically reduce background noise and distractions.
